A feature of the Gathering is the invited guest - an outstanding folk musician and/or band who share music and knowledge via guest spots, workshops and the mixed grill’s judging panel, and lend a certain panache and aplomb to the weekend’s proceedings.
The style and background of these artists vary each year – so different genres of the folk scene are highlighted.
Past invited guests have included Keith Potger, Luke Davies, Junior, Eric Bogle, Hard Drive, Greg Champion, Danny Spooner, Dave De Hugard, Bernard Carney and Pete Denahy.
We are pleased to announce our 2018 invited guest is Ami Williamson.
Ami is one of those rare female singers. While her roots are firmly in the tradition of singer/songwriter, her richly diverse upbringing had Ami taking the stage not only in opera and classical, but also touring with her father, legendary country music artist John Williamson.
She has shared the stage with many artists including International Folk Icon Judy Collins, Claire Bowditch, Sarah McLachlan, John Butler, The Angels, The Whitlams, Angry Anderson, Beccy Cole and Eric Bogle to name a few.
